this is a meaningless entry

i can't seem to make any meaningful entries these days, even though i mean to. i would love to write about the complexity of gender expectations, explore deeper about singapore dreaming (right now, i'm thinking it's awesome but i won't after a third or fourth thinking time), talk about the problems of masculinity as it is conceived in singapore, explore the issue of darfur (without getting pissed off at mia farrow) and maybe read another linda grant/salman rushdie book. and i read a bit of that book by the guy who wrote "raise the red lantern." this one was written from the perspective of his life as a fictional emperor.. interesting stuff.
i suppose the west is a pretty exotic place for me, but somehow the Other, victimized, repressed and regressive as we are, has a complexity in our psyche (okay wait, do we have a psyche?) that perhaps the west will never have. Maybe, except France.
