i am currently lovin this pretty old song by the eurhythmics, sweet dreams are made of this. there's this line that goes - "some of them want to abuse you, some of them want to be abused."

and today my mom and siblings were saying that i am too mean to the students i tutor cos i'll be scolding them in erm very creative ways, which are probably not very teacher-ly. but the truth is that i really think that my students don't mind getting scolded by me. a always smiles while she gets scolded and she doesn't have tears in her eyes or anything. my ex-student used to get scolded like shizz (ogay i admit that i was really mean to her but i really put in a lot of effort to drill her) but her mom used to tell me that said student loves me alot, albeit the love is also mingled with great fear.

so sadistic and goth-like that lyric sounds, it may actually be true. some people want to be abused. that's why those escorts who sleep with their clients are actually paid more if they can roleplay the dominatrix character well. i read it in one of those gerrie lim/tan books.

err but it may also explain why i keep getting scolded by my teacher these days :(
